Well, she is home but l wont say bouncing.
Indeed l dont think she even knows where she is.
When l picked her up, she was awake but not aware. The half hour car ride had me pull over a few times to check she was still breathing.
At home, l put her on my bed and there she has remained. Once or twice she has opened her eyes but she dosen’t know who l am.
She has two lots of stitches, one for the spaying, one for the hernia. And a lot of tablets to take in the next few days.
She would want to come to life over night or she is going back to the vets in the morning. l understand she would be sore but laying there with her eyes rolled back?
Despite the heat, she feels very cold to touch so has a blanket on her.
l dunno. The things we humans do to dogs is shocking.

How on earth l’m supposed to give her tablets ‘with food’ when she hasn’t come to life yet. l did ring the vet a little while ago but they said this reaction is normal and they aren’t worried.

Was lovely to be part of a small service in a rural country town.
Big thumbs up to the police and CFA who put up road blocks. And thumbs up to the shop staff who stopped for the brief time it took to remember.
Big thumbs down to the vechicle who ploughed straight through, you just couldn’t wait those few minutes. Standing beside me was the local reporter, he took your photo, l hope he publishes it so all can see just how rude you are.
Sad to see that the more years that pass, the elders are getting less and less, the youth just don’t seem to care.

But those who attended were there through respect, they remembered, they cared and all paid their homeage.

Little Pink has her day at the vets tomorrow for her hernia op and spaying.
We are at the withholding food stage, her pink harness is on the table ready for the morning.

l so dont do ‘vet visits’ real well.

Come home to a few moo cows on my front lawn. Since l’m not into lawn art, l gathered they belonged to next door.
l got out of the car and herded them out my drive only to have a passing car scatter them into two groups. Grrrr….
Took one group up the road into neighbours drive then turned to get the other lot. Back to my place and l’m thinking ‘man, there are a few extras here’ only to work out the first lot had followed me back home.
*sigh*
Grabbed the wagon and made use of the newly installed horn. Got them up the road but fucked if they would go into their gate way.
One objected greatly…

Oh Oh….getting out of the car and slapping his nose aint going to work.

He really isn’t listening to me yell ’shoo shoo’ through the car window.

Okay, he isn’t liking my horn. But l’m willing to bump him gently with the bonnet so he can take his pick what he wants to do.

Much better. Got them all in, rang the farmer who was at another farm further up. Had a roll of electric tape in the wagon so ran that across the gate.
There be my new age cowboy event, not a horse in site.

Another foot out!

Slow green tinge happening behind them so the grazed part is now taped off. If l’m not careful, the paddock will be a maze of bloody tape tunnels. l cant run a tape behind them as there is only one section at the back that is sheltered and has shade.
*snort*
Tape city it shall be!

l plucked up courage and took scissors to the recently bought wedding dress.

What it was….

Sleeves gone, skirt gone. Lace trimmed and de-beaded somewhat (you have no idea how many beads are on that sucker!)

Part of the skirt, it will be the outer skirt and leftovers will end up a petticoat.
Hit a brick wall, l intended taking the lace off and dying the dress. It’s polyester and when l read the poly-dye instructions (l do that some times) it says to boil the material on the stove. l dunt think that is a wise move so a color change aint happening.
l will just add a different color into the dress, still pondering on that.
But on the dress dummy it sits for now, waiting for the next burst of inspiration.

And you all thought l’d vanished!
Sorry, busy with visitors and a long long last weekend. l bought wind burn to a new level and proved l cannot last 3 days without more than 5 hours sleep.
Was fun (still is) but l’m ever so glad things can go back to normal (ok, lets not define ‘normal’).
l have not forgotten the costumes l have to make. l think l now know l have no hope of making the deadline but l’ll give it a good shot.
l’ve been running by the theory that ‘little bits all add up’ by doing a small thing each night on the first dress. System might work but how bloody frustrating. Seems to take forever to just do one thing.
But almost finished it is.

Have to do the hem yet. And the back of the dress is pinned as l need to put in grommets and lacing (after l put a backing on the flaps).

l have 10 large white ostrich feathers on their way to add to the hat. The rococo period was frilly, overdone and feathery.

Never underestimate the power of glue! Shame some bits of the hat seem to be stuck to the table still…..

They dont show up too well in photos but those tubes are all hand sewn and look puffy in real life.

Sadly, l have moved onto dress number 2 so who knows when #1 will be finished. Bets are the dress will go on display with a shit load of pins in it!

How come things you don’t understand dunt come with instructions?
Pink’s new harness arrived today, stuffed if any of us can work out how it goes. Looks more suitable for a areoplane or parachute jumping!

Thats how a normal harness would go but that one dunt sit right.

Pink is a tad fed up with all the messing around so we’ve given up for today.
