Thing is, l didn’t know l did (which is most likely why it is still growing).
l used to have a lot of tubs of orchids years ago. They started off fine, l were a bit of a pro potting up psuedo bulbs and getting them to flower two years later. l used to give the local nursing home big bunches of orchids on Cup Day every year.
But summin went wrong and one by one they all keeled over. l ran out of time to tend to them and they perished. l remember throwing the last of the pots into the side garden thinking ’sink or swim, buddy’.
Dreadful to say l have never walked/visited that part of the yard (well, fence line with a bit of bracken) since.
l have visitors over the next two and a half week, coming and going as they do. One of the Hims comes in and says ‘hey, nice orchids. Didn’t know you grew them’.
Say wha?
Went out to look and oh!!!!! One survived! And has a flower spike!

Well l’ll be!
There appears to be another one just a bit further down the ‘garden bed’ *cough*. No flowers but the bulbs have greenery on them. The pots have buried themselves in the ground now, since they like being pot bound to a degree, most likely suits them.
Go figure. Aren’t l the one with a green thumb…..(Dont answer that).
*gloats*

Very purdy flower – goes well with the mauve oxalis in the background. I find that most plants do best with benign neglect (sort of how I treat my horses too)
Yeah. l’m not going to touch the plants or flower. That way it can continue on its merry way.
