You are a bit late today, Swamp Lady. How about you move our fence out a bit so we dunt starve?
Ohhh……back of wagon open. Food buckets?

And that would be for what purpose?

You HAVE to be joking! You are meant to give us more, not take away!

Right. There is nothing for it. l have to resort to other food sources.

When l eat a leg off and fall over, l hope you feel guilty.

(*excuse piles of pony poo in photo. Raked but not picked up).

Maybe you should leave the poo scattered all over the paddocks – theoretically, ponies don’t eat where they’ve done poop (YEAH, RIGHT LOL). Or if you left the poop and they got heaps of worms, then the worms could eat more of the feed before it got to their gut and affected their feet. Sadly, it doesn’t work that way, eh?
After that hot day we had along with a downpour of rain, there is a green flush in to paddock that l dont like. Myron’s crest puffed up so l hit the panic button big time. Slight dull pulse in one front.
The only culprit l can work out would be the grazed grass (“grass under stress makes for quick sugar”) so slap went a fence down one side. We had to go buy more pig tail posts and tape, my stock supply asked if l were breeding posts as l seem to have a lot!
l could of moved some of the others further along and made do, but l dont trust the Bird. She will go under a tape if the distance between poles are too great and if she goes, Myron will go too.
l did run a tape along the middle of the grazed parts but both ponies scoffed at it which means “Turn your back and we are so through that”. If they got through that bit, it would give them straight access to the bigger part of the paddock and the risk is too great. So more tape and posts it was. Even if they go under/over that middle bit, they now cant reach the bigger part of the paddock so less risk.
Eric said l might as well just put lino down and keep them off the grass (he was joking). l said l would if l knew l could feed Myron on summin else safely (l weren’t joking).
l dunno. It gets too hard sometimes. You think you are doing the right thing and nature works against you.
Be nice if there was a easier way to manage Myron. l no longer look at the sky and think about small boat safety, l think about grass sugars and pony feet.
ARGH.
lol Poor girl has to eat her bits.
