News this morning about the Ebay changes (again) to be bought in 10th Sept.
Wish they’d make up their minds what the fuck they are doing with store listings. Once they were in main searches, then they got removed and hidden unless buyers went looking for them. Now they will return…but there will be no store listings as such.
All will be Buy It Nows and will show in searches. That’s good, right?
Noooooooooooo.
Because the fee hike will go from 10 cents to 40 cents. And the new ’store’ front is going up to $19.95 / $99.95 / $499.95 per month.
But hey, not all is bad….gallery won’t cost 1 cent for Buy It Now listings, you get that free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don’t know why they think sellers come down in the last shower of rain. Who give a hoot that we will save 1 cent!
There are a lot of other changes but l won’t bore you. Unless you are a seller with a store, it won’t alter the color of your day….or maybe it will. These changes will see a lot of the shops close. Of the three l have, l’m closing one of them for sure, maybe two.
The Ebay push is towards bulk listings of new stuff (quantity per listing) with Buy It Now format – sort of like a big online mall where you can buy cheap new stuff (like you get in those horrid $2 shops). According to the spiel ‘thats what buyers want’. They don’t want auctions, they don’t want to wait 7 days to win anything and they don’t want single secondhand items or collectables.
Go figure, for a auction house that built it’s rep on ‘largest online garage sale’, it sure is trying to bury itself.
Pfft.
